Distance: 1.5 miles

The Millhouse pub walk

Some details about the route:

TERRAIN: Flat and mostly across fields

SUITABLE FOR PUSHCHAIRS OR WHEELCHAIR: Not really as it’s across fields

CAR PARKING: We met at the Millhouse pub where there is free car parking, no height restrictions.

AMENITIES: This starts and finishes at the Millhouse pub, a lovely setting for a pub lunch

ABOUT THE ROUTE/WALK: This was an organised walk by the Millhouse, they open at 10am for a cuppa and bacon butties, then everyone heads off for the walk.

It’s a country walk across fields and along the canal, then back to the pub. These walks are very popular so they are very busy but it doesn’t feel crowded during the walk as everybody is spread out along the route. The organisers from the pub do wait at set points so don’t worry about getting lost or left behind.

This is a short walk but it can easily be extended if you were to go off exploring along the canal and Butter Wood. Butter Wood is partly private property so you will need to follow Public Footpath signs.

TIPS: A lovely walk whether you go for a short afternoon stroll or decide to go further afield – it’s a beautiful location to go exploring, especially nice if you take advantage of the pub setting!
